the inspiration

I take inspiration from a number of women and men, from various speeches, from music, literature, poetry and from other art forms. I recognise that these forms of inspiration don't work for everyone. But I’m sure that for every person, there is a phrase, a lesson or an account of an experience out there that is worth hearing.

Here are a few of my favourite...

nick vujicic

“We have a choice – either to be angry for what we don’t have, or to be thankful for what we do have.”

“Think of the three biggest discourages in your life. They’re not your biggest discourages. You are.”

malcolm x

“The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

mel robbins

“The major mistake that everybody makes is waiting; waiting to feel like it, waiting for somebody to pick you, waiting for the right time, waiting to feel motivated; it’s not coming. For the big stuff; for the hard stuff, it requires a push – always has; always will. You got one life.”

Steve jobs

“You have to trust in something. Your gut, destiny, karma, whatever. Because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path. And that will make all of the difference.”

“Have the courage to follow your heart, and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.”

Motivational videos aren't for everyone, but these are three of the best I've come across, and they have helped me through some of the tougher days.

jim carrey

“The effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is. How will you serve the world? What do they need, that your talent can provide? That’s all you have to figure out. Why not take a chance on faith as well? Not religion, but faith. Not hope, but faith. I don’t believe in hope. Hope walks through the fire, and faith leaps over it.

les brown

“Accept where you are, and the responsibility that you’re going to take yourself where you want to go.”

nelson mandela

“It always seems impossible, until it is done.”

martin luther-king jnr

“If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But, whatever you do, make sure you’re moving forward.”
